From the earth we receive nourishment for our bodies and minds. Nature provides us with the inspiration and materials to make art. This practical demonstration and lecture focuses on just one of these materials: earth itself, in its naturally occuring forms: red clays, yellow ochres, green earths. Artist, educator and historian Radu Leon will introduce you to colourful aspects of the history and practice of painting with earth tones, across time and space, and painting & drawing media.
