Food is life. Across time, representations of food reveal and record its importance and functions: sustenance, cure, comfort, communion, and ritual.
This online course opens a window on how western European artists pictured food. It is designed to refine your practical understanding and use of soft pastels in conveying an array of shapes, surfaces, and textures, inspired by masterful examples of 17th & 18th-centuries artists.
You will receive individual guidance and detailed feedback as you practise at your own pace. Three online lessons with a duration of 3hrs each (plus extra time for breaks) are spread over a period of three weeks.
